  • ATP Releases 21 New Numbers to Transmission Filter Product Line

ATP Automotive, celebrating its 60th anniversary in transmission filtration systems, has announced the addition of 21 new part numbers to its transmission filter product line. According to the company, these new numbers not only add coverage for key late model applications, but also provide a quality alternative to previously dealer-only and niche applications. This expansion creates a program with more than 300 available part numbers and substantial coverage for automatic transmission-equipped domestic and European vehicles.

ATP premium transmission filters are designed to capture internal transmission contaminants from standard to extreme operation and provide OE-specified fluid flow, ensuring transmission longevity. Many filter kits include the 3rd Hand Pan Gasket, which features guide holes that catch pan bolts, for fast and easy pan installation. The gasket material lays flat, requires no additional sealants and expands with the initial heat cycle to prevent leaks and retain bolt torque.

“Providing OE filtration specifications, innovative gasket technology and unmatched coverage make ATP Automotive the right choice for transmission filters,” said Luke Perkowski, director of product management and marketing for ATP Automotive Inc.

Founded on July 1, 1955, ATP was historically known as a transmission products supplier. Over the years, the ATP Automotive product line has expanded to include automatic transmission filter kits, repair kits, exhaust manifold kits, harmonic balancers, timing covers, cables, flywheel and ring gears, interior vent filters and chemicals. ATP started out in a 2,000 square foot facility in Chicago and is now located in a 92,000 square foot building in Elk Grove Village, Ill., a suburb of Chicago.

  • ATP Automotive Conducts Inaugural International Sales Meeting

ATP Automotive held its first-ever international sales meeting at the company’s corporate headquarters in Elk Grove Village, Ill. The meeting, held Jan. 19-21, included ATP Automotive sales representatives from the United States, Canada and Latin America.

“While we have always held annual sales meetings, this was the first time we have had our entire sales team, including international members, together for an all-encompassing meeting,” said Roy Lipner, president and CEO of ATP Automotive. “It was a very productive start to our company’s 60th year as a privately owned and operated business. We felt it was important to communicate effectively to our sales team about the transformative changes we have made within ATP Automotive to allow us to be a bigger and better parts supplier to our loyal customer base.”

  • ATP Automotive: One-Stop Source for Flexplates, Flywheels

With broad coverage and superior performance and durability, ATP Automotive is the leading one-stop source for top-quality flexplates and flywheels.

“Precision manufacturing, accurate coverage and consolidations without compromise make ATP Automotive the right choice for flexplates and flywheels,” said Bob Benisek, product manager for ATP, Inc. “Our flexplates are made of high quality steel and have the correct bolt hole spacing and ring gear teeth, just like the original part, to ensure long life and durability. Our flywheels also provide precision fit and function for ease of installation and longevity.”

Vehicles with automatic transmissions have a flexplate that connects the engine and transmission. Most flexplates are made of a thick piece of sheet metal with bolt holes for the torque converter and teeth for the starter. Manual transmission vehicles are equipped with a flywheel where the clutch assembly is mounted. The flywheel provides a smooth friction surface for the clutch disk.

“The constant expansion and contraction of a flexplate over time can result in cracks and or shearing of the flexplate, and a damaged flexplate can create serious and expensive damage. Broken flexplates cannot be repaired and must be replaced,” said Benisek. “Flywheels can crack, become worn, or break starter teeth and once a damaged flywheel is diagnosed, a replacement flywheel is the only route to go.”

To learn more about ATP Automotive flexplates and flywheels, contact your ATP Automotive sales representative or call the company’s Senior Vice President of Sales Steve Horn at 847-597-9174.
